Rock climbing

By Philip CadzowWednesday November 13, 2013

Climbing this year has been great; every Tuesday and Friday lunchtimes we would gather in the wall to climb.

Since the wall is not very tall we do laps; climbing round and round the room. There are variations on the laps; sometimes plain going round using any holds; using certain colour holds for hands and feet anywhere; colour holds for hands and feet; climbing up one panel then down the next, continuing round the wall (this got very hard at the overhang). If we ever tire of laps there are always challenges to do, only certain holds are used in sequence which create very hard moves that sometimes are impossible. I have really enjoyed climbing with the students, they have always been full of energy and new ideas to try; even on the days when the wall is a sauna under the wrath of the sun, or freezing during the winter air; their friendliness and joviality have been fantastic to be around.
Special thanks to Philip from the Sports Department for his hours and hours of support he has given to Logan Park Students in the Climbing Club.
