Nanny Noi Hudson was honoured by staff, students and whanau in October 2013 for her outstanding contribution to Logan Park High School. At a special tribute evening in the school whare, speakers thanked Noi for her 18 years of Board representation as Adviser on Maori matters.
Tributes were delivered by the current Board Chair, Ruth Barnett, and four previous Board Chairs, Alex King, Margie MacMurdoe-Reading and Han Verberne; our Kaumatua and former Kaiako, Tom Arapeta, and student representative, Jacobi Kohu-Morris.
Noi was presented with a glass koru sculpture (with a service inscription), from students Flayme Wharerau and Emma Samuels on behalf of the Board and staff. The Kapa Haka group entertained beautifully throughout the evening, supporting each speaker. Karakia and kai followed with those present sharing many memories about the school’s whakapapa and development of Te Reo and Tikanga within the school.
We are very glad that Noi has agreed to remain as our Kuia.
