International student outdoor experience - Lake Tekapo and Mount Cook/Aoraki

By Akari Okawa (Japan)Wednesday November 20, 2013

It was a nice trip to Lake Tekapo and Mt. Cook with 6 people including me. I spent almost all the time having much fun with Ina and Clara.

We went to a park for a break on the way there and then we did lots of things: sitting in the hot pools,  ice skating, visiting Mt.Cook, the museum, Mt John Observatory and the little church made of rock.

On the way back to Dunedin, we stopped at Moeraki Beach. All the places were so nice to visit and see.

The place where we stayed beside Lake Tekapo was also lovely.

The things that I enjoyed the most were taking pictures of the lake and friends, going skating and watching the stars at night. I was really moved seeing views around the lake and also observing stars which I can’t see well where I live in Japan. I could relax and have fun at the same time, and I thought that was so cool to talk or play with my friends in such a nice place. I won’t forget how much fun I had there and how beautiful it is.  :)
