Formal 2013

By Sarah PringleFriday November 22, 2013

Casino Royale was the theme for this year's formal. It was held at The Savoy, a very elegant venue which suited our theme perfectly.

On the morning of the formal, many of us were up early to go down to the venue and set up for the formal (of course this had to be done early as we all needed about 4 hours to get ready). We had a lot of last minute mishaps, like racing down to the shop to get sellotape and ribbon.

All our hard work paid off on the night; there were so many people looking amazing in their dresses and suits. The tables looked stunning covered in playing cards and poker chips with a very time consuming centre piece adorning the middle of each table. We had an amazing photographer who was amused to see the attractive faces we could pull in pictures and of course we had a massive rave to the Year 13's favourite song of all time, Disco Pogo.

A special thanks to Sean Stenhouse and Jack Bloomfield who organised all the great music for the night and to Mrs Ashby who helped oversee the whole thing.

Lastly, a massive thank you to the amazing Formal Committee for all the input and putting up with all the stress of getting things done on time. The committee consisted of; Lisa Turner, Ashleigh Hutton, Tayla Hohaia (who also designed the invitations), Sarah Wilson, Polly Kennedy and Courtney Kilner. These people were actively involved throughout the whole process and it wouldn't have been a successful night without them.

It was an unforgettable night and I'm so happy I got to spend my last senior Formal with everyone who was there.
