A powerful speech about using education as a weapon to defeat poverty, crime and the inter-generational cycle of hardship has won Jacobi Kohu-Morris the Nga Manu Korero Otago Southland Senior English section of the speech contest for the second year in a row. He will represent the Southern region in Hastings in September.

And our Junior speakers,Emma Samuels (Yr 10) spoke well in the Junior Maori section, with Ahi Katai-Mullane (Yr 10) speaking convincingly in the Junior English section.  Our Kapa Haka group travelled to Invercargill to support our speakers and will travel to the Hawke's Bay in September to support Jake in the National finals of the competition.
